Guild Wars 2 Filly Guild!

Howdy gang. Well, i've been as antsy as can be about this game and seeing as it releases in a week (Tuesday the 28th at midnight!) i thought i would creep back in and ramble a little, and see if a few more of you might be interested in joining us. As of now me, Shadow, Shaze, and Macabre have all prepurchased, and i've spoken with a few others who made it into the last beta and they've expressed interest as well. My goal's to get together a whole guild worth of us so we can all explore and adventure together ^^

Anywho, for those who don't know Guild Wars 2 is a new MMO that's been in development for several years now that's seeking to change a lot about the genre. The goal is to make a game that's dynamic, approachable, and fun. Things like kill stealing, level grinding, resource stealing, equipment dictating PvP mode, MONTHLY FEES, all those concepts are gone. Seriously, buy the box and you never have to pay a dime again. There's 5 races and 8 classes, no "holy trinity", no healer. Every class can heal themselves, do damage, support allies, and control the battlefield in their own ways. You'll never have to stand around spamming "LF healer!!11!" for an hour cause any class combo can be viable, and lots of cool archetypes are covered from Warriors to steampunky Engineers to Thieves and paladin-y Guardians and more. There's a huge open world that changes regularly based on what the players in it do. If you come across a village being attacked and save it, it doesn't revert right back so the next guy can save it, it stays saved until that event cycles. If you fail, it fails. What you do (and don't do) really makes a difference. On top of that there's a personal story where you can experience a solid RPG based around you as the hero. You're not just a faceless nopony, choices you make in creating your character are reflected in your story, it's really cool.

If you're more into PvP, there's a structured mode that's entirely skill based. All players are the same level with max gear, max weapons, all skills unlocked, and access to all upgrades and traits. Build your character like you like and get swinging, there's hot-join pickup games like in FPS games and tournaments where you get a team together and play against other teams. Your ability to play comes first, not what gear you've grinded for.

If you're into BOTH, World vs. World will probably appeal to you. It's open world PvP with a twist - separate set of four maps, three servers pitted up for two weeks in a drawn out siege war. Castles, keeps, towers, and resources to fight over and take and defend, siege weapons you can build and use, tactical group fighting, solo attacks behind enemy lines, and the bonuses you earn are shared with your WHOLE server. You can level all the way to the cap there if you want, and get loot and new armor and weapons and everything! Last beta i racked up a good 200 kills just frying guys from the wall of a castle with a ballista, Shaddy was so jealous.. =P

Anyways! I would ramble for a while but i'll keep it relatively short unless anypony has questions. The game launches the 28th and we're going to be playing on the Crystal Desert server, and i have every intention of having a pony guild for us sooner (prepurchasers get in early, so i'll get us a good name!). We're planning to do a little of everything and just have a really good time together, and as many of you all that wanna come along, we'd love to have you <3 It's buy-the-box and never pay a sub fee like i said, so if you're not into paying every month (i've NEVER liked those payment models, haha) then this might be up your alley. Anything that i didn't cover and you're wondering about just ask, i've been playing GW1 since 2005 and i've been following GW2's development for a few years now (and logged over 100 hours this year in all the beta events), chances are i'll know =P

Oh, and some of the devs are bronies. Rarest shortbow skin is a unicorn bow that fires rainbow-trailing arrows and has been described as being 20% cooler than other shortbows. Just sayin'.

Now that I have a somewhat working laptop, I plan on getting this as soon as I fix my -very- old computer problem.

Hey! I'm playing, and good thing my transfer was free because I definitely didn't pick the Crystal Desert the first time around!

Server transfers are still free! They will be for a few days at least, so you can switch over to us at any time ^_^ If it's full, just check in from time to time, lots of players are moving around and it'll open up.

My account name is Sunset Skye.6087, just send me a message and i'll get you hooked up with us. The guild name is Celestias Rejects. Thanks to lag the New Lunar Republic, Solar Empire, Friendship is Magic, and Elements of Harmony were all gone.. But we'll be the only guild on any server with Twilight Sparkle in it!
