[Masterweaver]

"Oh don't worry! She'll find YOU!"

A pearly earth pony with wild mane and frazzled tail stuck his head into the conversation without any thought. His entire body was criss-cross-covered in scorch marks and scraggles, but even more noticeable were the multitude of Cutie Marks under the charred fur.

"Pinkie Pie, she finds everypony," the stallion continued. "She found me after I asked for muffins, and I was in my lab outside Canterlot! Wait, who are you again? Hmmm. No, I know you, don't tell me...."

Masterweaver, meanwhile. quietly looked scraggly over. "...I know there's a homeless shelter in Ponyville.... um..."

[TheDashingBrony]

"I...I had been living by myself for a while before coming to Ponyville...I didn't want to rely on others..." Scraggly mumbled, pawing at the ground and leaving dirt marks.

[Nomeg_Stylus]

"Pffffft, that's silly," Pinkie remarked. "Why wouldn't you want to rely on others? Especially when not relying only makes life harder."

As if to offset the seriousness of the situation, more streamers burst off of Pinkie's costume.

[Sleepy Mix]

Seeing as Tek Croon was distracted by some tan stallion Sleepy Mix went to explore the party grounds. "What am I supposed to do now?" he thought to himself while looking around. There were a few ponies playing "pin the tail on the pony", a few ponies on the dance floor and a pink pony hopping around talking to others and shooting streamers out of her costume.

He also noticed the same pegasus who helped out earlier. Deciding he didn't know where to start anyway he walked towards Skyblaze. "Let's see, what would be a good way to start a conversation?" he thought, he never was good at small talk. he had spaced out and didn't notice that he had already reached Skyblaze before one of the cups of punch bumped into her and spilled all over her face. This caused Sleepy Mix to drop the cake and punch and caused Skyblaze to fall to the ground. "Oh hay, this is a great way to start a conversation."

[Skyblaze]

Skyblaze, happily slurping up a big glob of cakepunch, heard somepony approaching her and turned to face him. Her snout bumped the floating cup sending it flying and coating her glasses with punch."Whoa!" she exclaimed, backing up with a start. A hoof skidded on a lump of cake frosting on the floor, depositing her and her cakepunch unceremoniously onto the floor. "Ooof!"

She regained her footing, and tried to see who it was, squinting through her now dirty glasses. "Uh.. he-... hello? Oh! Hi there! Glad to see you're ok. What about that other pony? Did he ever come to?"

[Diamond Charm]

An aquamarine unicorn quickly walks down the street. She glances at the location of the sun and grimaces, letting out an aggravated moan and then forces a smile as she walks down the street, invitation floating to her side, "Fashionably late? Fashionably late."

As she rounds the entrance she stops dead in her tracks. Cake in the punch bowl? That she could deal with, but the ground around it was growing ever messier as everypony handled the bowl.

This of course isn't to mention seeing that pink pony, presumably Pinkie Pie, our gracious host, dealing with an obviously destitute pony.

"Oh, no no no! It is clear that I am simply FAR too late if things have derailed THIS badly!" Diamond states for the world to hear, "But that's OK because Diamond Charm is on the case!"

Diamond approaches Pinkie, Scraggly, and the mysterious science pony. She looks Scraggly up and down sorrowfully, and turns to Pinkie Pie, "Are you Pinkie Pie? Diamond Charm here," She says with a bow, "Charmed, I'm sure."

[Sleepy Mix]

"Oh Celestia, I'm so sorry." he apologized to skyblaze. "I arrived less than 5 minutes ago and I'm screwing up everything already." he thought to himself mentally facehoofing himself. Skyblaze didn't seem mad though, she was smiling and just said she was glad he was okay and asked where Tek was.

"The other unicorn is fine, he's right there talking to some other pony." he said pointing to Tek Croon and a tan stallion near the entrance. "I'm really sorry, shall I get a new piece of cake or a cup of punch?"

[TheDashingBrony]

Jumping when the streamers came out, he let out an audible yelp and hid behind one of his wings. "B=Because the only people that helped me ever before were really mean to me!" He blurted out from behind that wing. He let out more dust as he took another step back. "S-So please, I'll just be going now!"

[Masterweaver]

"...no."

Masterweaver moved to block the entrance.

"I will not leave you until you find a semi-permanent home."

[TheDashingBrony]

"B-But..." Scraggly bit his lip, he didn't want this pony to try and do anything for him. He was perfectly fine on his own, he thought. "N-No, I can live on my own just fine...You don't need to...And besides, I don't want to attract any more attention..."

[Skyblaze]

"I'm really sorry, shall I get a new piece of cake or a cup of punch?"

"Sure, thanks! I don't think I've seen you around before. Are you new here?" Skyblaze shook her glasses off onto a nearby table, and licked them clean. "Mmmm... this punch is good!"

[Sleepy Mix]

"Yep I'm new here, moved in 2 days ago from Gallopfornia." He said while floating a new piece of cake and a cup of punch towards himself. "I moved to Ponyville because I bought a milkshake bar here. I got fired at my old job but now I'm my own boss."

Sleepy Mix took a sip from his punch. "I was hoping to meet some ponies here, make some friends and ofcourse have some fun. How about you?"

[Mr. Improv]

Smoky smiled as Pinkie Pie did her little trick with the streamers and appeared next to Tek and himself. "I guess that guy with all the cutie marks was right! I'll let you get down to the brass tacks with our hostess."

As he headed back to the center of the room, he introduced himself to Pinkie Pie. "Nice to meet you, Miss Pinkie Pie. I'm Smoky Blues, yet another musician." He smiled and bowed his head respectfully and continued on his way.

He looked around the room, looking for interesting ponies to schmooze with. His eyes settled on a stallion that seemed to be a little tipsy, and a sky blue pegasus. "What's shaking, fellow party ponies? The name's Smoky Blues."

[Masterweaver]

Marbles stomped on over to the snack bar, noticing the cake punch but deciding to steal the MASSIVE BOWL OF PRETZELS NEXT TO IT. "Yes! Wheat!"

Masterweaver shakes his head. "I've made up my mind. So... yes."

[TheDashingBrony]

"But...I don't wanna be a burden to anypony..." Scraggly said, stepping back a few times. His stomach growled louder than the music, causing him to blush although the dirt on his face hid it. He was hungry, that's for sure. "I-I'm fine..."

[Tek Croon]

A flurry of streamers later, Tek found himself nose to nose with Ponyville's most well renowned party girl. He spared a nod toward Smoky Blues as he faded back into the crowd. "Hey Pinky! I'm here! Is everything ready?" he half-shouts over the din. Glancing around he notices his speakers are set up near the small stage in the corner along with a familiar looking beatbox and microphone. "Let me know when you are ready for me!"

[Masterweaver]

"I am not leaving. That is final." Masterweaver furls his wings tightly, a universal signal among pegasi-kind that things have gotten serious.

Marbles continues to chow down on pretzels. "I LOVE WHEAT IT'S SO TASTY..."

[Skyblaze]

Sleepy Mix took a sip from his punch. "I was hoping to meet some ponies here, make some friends and ofcourse have some fun. How about you?"

Skyblaze smiles. "I'm from Cloudsdale, but I get to Ponyville every few days or so. You'll like it here! It's quiet, and peaceful... err... except when it's not... and creatures from the Everfree Forest wander into town and tear things up... well... yeah except for THOSE times, it's quiet and peaceful!"

Sleepy Mix took another sip before answering the tan stallion beside him."Oh hi Smoky. I saw you talking to Tek earlier, are you a singer aswell?"

[Diamond Charm]

Diamond raises her eyebrows. Not only is no one paying attention to her, but this terribly rude and woefully emaciated pony really must be taught some manners.

"What did you say your name was? Oh, it doesn't matter. Did you receive an invitation? It looks like this," She floats her invitation in front of Scraggly inches from his face. Pulling it aside again, she continues, "It doesn't matter even if you didn't, though, because it sounds to me like you've received several verbal invitations to the party, or at the very least every pony is asking you not to leave. We are allowed to bring as many guests as we like, so if you don't want to be a burden on anypony, it would be wise to take into account that it is ever so burdensome when some pony refuses to accept a heartfelt gift, ESPECIALLY when that heartfelt gift is something that you clearly need and want. I mean, REALLY...!" She bites her tongue and pauses, already regretting what she was about to say.

Clearing her throat and looking nervously to Masterweaver, "I'm sorry. It really wasn't my place at all, so I hope I'm not intruding."

[Mr. Improv]

"Hi Smoky! What's up?"

"Not much, just schmoozing and ingratiating myself with Ponyville at large. Good to see you again!"

"Oh hi Smoky. I saw you talking to Tek earlier, are you a singer aswell?"

"Nah, I can sing, but I'm more of an instrument pony. Besides, I haven't been in Ponyville long enough to get my name around, you know? But if you know any ponies looking for a band to play in, or any bars looking for talent...let me know, yeah?"
Smoky took a sip of his cakepunch. Or was it punchcake?

Scraggly jumped back, frightened by the pony who started to yell at him. He backed up from her and bumped into a wall. He continually repeated "I'm sorry" during her speech like a scared child, his legs shaking like they were made of cardboard. "I-I just don't want to be a burden..." He looked pitiable, cowering in front of this mare who yells at him like his mother used to. "P-Please stop yelling, I'll do whatever you ask..."

[Masterweaver]

Masterweaver didn't know what to say.... so he ignored the unicorn. In fact, he just started making a cloud. It wasn't terribly big, as it was made out of the nice scents floating around the bakery, but it was multi-colored.

Meanwhile, while Marbles was busily chowing down on pretzels, a unicorn with dark flanks passed by him. She grinned. Ah yes... this would do nicely.

[Diamond Charm]

An eye twitch is followed by a sigh, and Diamond responds to herself for the strange magician, "Why, no, Diamond Charm, you're no imposition at all!"

Turning back to the mortified Scraggly, she closes her eyes, determined not to continue letting her frustrations get in the way of common decency, "I'm not yelling dear, I just thin...k that what the hay?"

Diamond falters as she is distracted by the brightly colored cloud around the bakery. Shaking her head, she continues, "Just be a good guest and enjoy the party, and you won't be a burden, see? If you get all neurotic, nopony will ever enjoy being around you, and take it from me, being liked is one of life's greatest joys!" Diamond laughs in her self-absorbed cloud of ego, "Now, come along, dear, we mustn't keep those horse d’oeuvres waiting." Looking to the table she shudders, "I recommend you stay away from that abominable cake punch, however. It looks dreadful."

Scraggly stopped shaking, the girl seemed a bit nicer to him now. "I-I'm not a guest...I snuck in to take f-food...I haven't had any in days..." He muttered to the girl, cringing and getting ready for another lecture. "P-Please don't yell too much, I'm sorry and I won't do it ever again..."
