Alright, I'm new here, and...well...I'm still trying to learn my way around here and trying to understand the mechanics of how you do the roleplaying around here. I didn't see any sort of official FAQ here so I'm just gonna come out and say it: I'm confused about a couple of things.

Basically, I have a small number of questions.

#1: I understand the site uses a sort of stat-based character creation, apparently for the Chat room side of things, and I recall seeing a rule somewhere that all characters are required to go by this system--yet I saw some characters on the Character Creation board did not. My question is: <i>Are the Roleplay Boards and Roleplay Chat room separate in mechanics</i> (i.e. those who roleplay via forum not have to worry about using the Puzzles and Ponies system?)

#2: If I create a character, do I need to submit a profile for approval on the character forum, even if I going to be using him/her in the chat?

#3: Is there any limit to how many characters you can create? (ex. no more than three per account?)

#4: Is it acceptable to request a roleplay to be held over Private Message or offsite through another location, such as Instant Messengers (AIM/YIM/MSN/Skype/etc.)?

Yes, but you probably don't have to worry about using it. The point of that status is like doing math homework and showing your work. It is for comparison only. Actually using it in roleplay are purely optional.

Forum and chat use the same character database really. And there are no "approval" process. Long as it is a Unicorn Pony, Pegasus pony, and Earth Pony with no speciality about this character that are from outside of the show. You can general just start playing. For non-pony, it is best discuss your idea a bit with us in the chat.

There are no limit. you can create your character here http://fillydelphia.com/chat/ and it will give you a list in your profile in the chat.

We don't encourage it, nor do we discourage it. The focus of this site is mostly public roleplay but private roleplay in the chat and outside the chat obviously happens. We don't plan on governing them.
