Re: Season 2 Discussion
According to this guy, 1 wing-power = 19.5 MPH.
All we have to do is figure out how to relate our Puzzles and Ponies Quickness stat.
My previous suggestion was P&P Quickness times 2, plus 4.
But if we go with that, I'll have to adjust Skyblaze's Quickness down. With her Quickness of 3, she can reach up to 10 wing-power without trying, and when I think of Skyblaze the phrase "easily able to reach 195 mph flight speed" doesn't come to mind.

Re: Season 2 Discussion
Well, using PnP, our Rainbow Dash has 6 Quickness and averages 9.5 on a roll. The ratio of 9.5:16.5 is approximately 1:1.74. if we round to 1.75, we get a ratio of 4:7
so, putting this into a formula gives me ((Q+3.5)/4)*7=W
where Q = quickness stat and W = wing power.
I'm just going to solve this for each point from 1-7
Q = W
1 = 7.875
2 = 9.625
3 = 11.375
4 = 13.125
5 = 14.875
6 = 16.625
7 = 18.375
This means, assuming a 2 is the average score for a stat, that your typical Pegasus is just shy of 10.0 wingpower. Perhaps even enough so that with a week of training they could meet/exceed it.
If this throws off anypony's perceptions of what their character can do... *shrug*

My method gives about the same results with less complicated math and no decimals. It might be a bit more user friendly.

I say there's no need to over-think things here. Do we really need to know exactly how many miles per hour a pony actually travels? Do we genuinely believe that Rainbow Dash was capable of traveling at roughly 750 mph? Do we have to make youtube videos over-analyzing a very brief scene wherein the speed of a pony is determined by what an animator thinks looks good on a television screen?
To draw a lesson from the great poets of old (whom have already been referenced in the page before this), "It's just I show. I should really just relax."

I would say no, but a lot of folks in the chat have asked "how fast is fast?" It doesn't matter to me in the grand scheme, but for those who want or need to know an actual MPH flight speed, they have a way to figure something out that it based at least in part on the physics of the show.

Fillies with fedoras...heh cute.
On another note I wouldn't want to over think the wing power too much.
Considering Dash is pretty much regarded as the fastest pegasus and we already have a host of pegasi that ALL want to be the best or the fastest so ...
meh

Another clip from the wedding!
We see Twilight's mom and dad again, which is no surprise.
And the CMC make such cute flower fillies!

We already know there are some manner of mayhem. It is about Cadence's "Dark secret". I doubt they will make her have any ugly past. They still need to sell the doll! So it is probably her evil ex boyfriend coming to ruin the party, and he is probably somepony fairly powerful to give the Mane6 some trouble.

...for some reason combining Mayday's evil ex-boyfried theory with DeLancie's return makes me think that Discord is her boyfriend...and the idea, just, won't, leave! Seriously though, I hope it doesn't turn into Shining Armor vs Equestria...it should be Scoot Pilgrim.

This was my impression as well. Spitfire was there as a celebrity guest, and the creation of the tornado was a "ponies of Ponyville" event. It wouldn't have been proper or expected for her to have participated. If Spitfire could join in, why not the entire population of Cloudsdale?
Would of responded to this sooner, but I moved and my internet has been crap. Anyway, she should of helped because they already failed, and it is something to help out the entire country/world. Sure, it makes sense she doesn't the first time, but they failed the first try! And Cloudsdale needs the water for clouds. This wasn't some random little event, it was a duty to be done to help the whole of Equestria. If I recall correctly, Rainbow Dash even refereed to it being an honor. It was never a competition, Rainbow Dash made it a competition. Should Spitfire of just sat back and let them fail again, and thus delay water being brought up to Cloudsdale for, quite possibly, days, because she didn't help, the team failing twice, and the team being too exhausted to try again?

Ponyville Confidential is my favorite episode now <3. It was a very fun and amusing episode, despite the rather common plot idea. My favorite parts had to be Diamond Tiara and Rarity. They both were eating the scenery like there was no tomorrow, and I loved it so much!

And cutie marks are apparently some coloration of the fur itself, since Snips' and Snails' were removed down to the skin.
Also... that Spot... what a showoff! Ya gotta admit, though, the camera just loves him!

That actually kinda disappoints me, makes it seem like they're less magical. Or maybe I'm just silly for thinking like that.
Spot is best model, though <3

Once again, Diamond Tiara has no redeeming qualities whatsoever.
Mayor dies her mane?!
Now I want to know if that pic of Celestia pigging out was real.

I pointed that out during the stream. I had actually wondered if you could still see the mark if you shaved the hide...also it's hide not fur. Fur consists of an under and outer coating of hair with opposite orientations lateral to the skin. Hide is more like what we have, a singular layer of insulating hair. Hide is found on species that sweat, which includes ponies. Hide helps prevent overheating due to being more breathable, but it is neither liquid resistant nor insulating against inclement weather like fur is. Anyway, you can shave off the cutie mark...I wonder if that affects the ponies special talents at all?

Re: Season 2 Discussion
Cutie Marks do not grant special talents, Special Talents grant Cutie Marks. Shaving off the cutie mark just makes their talent not as immediately obvious.
Not that all of them are obvious in anyway. Diamond Tiara's, for example. It's her Tiara. Is her talent wearing Tiaras? I actually think it's 'Leadership', from this episode, how she has Silver Spoon always following her, and the fact a tiara is commonly worn by Princesses, a position of power.
Anyway, the Cutie Pox does not disprove my first sentence. I think the Cutie Pox, as a magical illness, caused 'false' or parodies of cutie marks to appear. They are not the real thing, merely a false version of them, with the illness forcing the pony to preform what they represent.

Re: Season 2 Discussion
I don't know, I think Cutie Marks correspond to personality or character moreso than a special talent. Three examples that immediately come to mind would be Applejack, Silver Spoon and Twist. I mean, sure Applejack is great at growing apples, but we know that's not why she got her cutie mark, she got it because she loved her family and home, giving it a deeper meaning than 'I'm good at bucking apples'. And similarly, Silver Spoon's cutie mark plays off of the old saying 'She was born with a silver spoon in mouth' which lends credence to the fact she's a stuck up snob, instead of her having that cutie mark because she has a talent that has something to do with spoons. And Twist's cutie mark is from loving to bake treats for her friends, and that's straight from the horse's mouth as it were.

Re: Season 2 Discussion
Well. Rarity did use the word "Destiny" as a general term to describe Cutiemark in the last eps. I guess they generally understood as what a pony wants to do, rather then what a pony is good at, or have special talent of. It probably have more to do with personality then talent.

Some other observations...
There is a force-field/magical barrier type spell, big enough to enclose an entire building... er... tree...
You can disrupt unicorn magic by bapping them on the horn while they have a spell in progress.

It might not be something that actually disrupts the magic, just breaks a unicorn's concentration. It looked like it kinda hurt Rarity.
