Season 3 Discussion

It's probably a bit early to start much speculation, but thanks to certain Twitter feeds, Bronycon, and ComicCon, we're starting to get some information on Season 3.

Most of the things in the earlier post were very "hint hint" style. The questions from the audience were not pre-screened at all, so naturally everypony asked about season three.

Trixie's return was "confirmed" with a "I think we're not allowed to say, but I will expect season three to maybe see some great and powerful stuff". after somepony asked if she would be returning. (yesyesyesyesyesyesyesyesyes)

There was a great section about Derpy. somepony asked if she would be receiving anymore speaking roles, and the response basically said Hasbro loves Derpy, they have her everywhere now, but she probably wont be able to roll with anything other than background shots. You guys scared the poor girl!

Octavia's section was a question about "Which background pony would you like to voice?". This eventually lead to a shoutout for Octavia, where Cathy Weseluck just out of nowhere busted out an awesome voice for her, with a hint that she could do a duet with Rarity.

Fluttershy turning into a dragon and her cute voice coming from a giant lizard was actually mentioned by Tabitha. Sounds like season 3 to me!

More crazy ponies on the way! These are the best episodes btw.

They hyped Luna up, so we will probably be seeing more of her.

Tabitha's first panel was a huge success! And her voice is just as amazing in person as in the show.

And is it just me, or did Rarity's section of that song remind anypony of the unicorn kingdom and Princess Platinum? What with the royal purple and a snowflake design.

I couldn't help but notice that everypony's part had something to do with their personality... Rainbow Dash talking about jousting, Rarity making a flag, Applejack picking fruit, Fluttershy leading the 'crystal ewes' (aka sugarfluffs!), Pinkie Pie playing the fluglehorn (badly, given the reactions of the others), and Twilight memorizing the anthem.

Even though they're just colorful sheep, they still look like sugarfluffs... the size, the colors, the fluffiness...

I wouldn't go off that so quickly. It is likely that Cadance is the Crystal pony Princess or something, but I doubt seeing heart in a show where hearts shaped stuff are everywhere, is any kinda evident of what is going to happen.

It's not a major revelation or anything, but we now have proof that the plume on the guard helmets is actually the guard's mane. Look at when Rainbow Dash puts on the helmet in the first song.

Oooh, I love Cathy's version of Octavia... it reminds me of her portrayal on the Vinyl Scratch Tapes audio plays!

And as for Cadance's magic not being permanent... could that all her magic, even basic unicorn spells?

Also I like to note that the square root of 546 should be 23.36664289109585... which means if it is rounding to the 11th digit, it should have been 23.36664289110 instead.

I hope the Crystal Ponies aren't the Twinkle Eyed Ponies. If we get those before Sea Ponies, I'd be pretty mad. Also, if they're including a new pony species they had better define what they can do. I do not want supper speculation based off of a couple things they do without a good explanation.

Crystal Pony theories:

The Crystal Kingdom is in distress. Civil unrest is rampant, ponies fighting each other in the streets. The guards are trying to keep order but are hopelessly outnumbered. Their ruler reaches out to Equestria for help and they send Cadance. Cadance uses her magic to cast a spell on the entire Crystal Kingdom to calm them down long enough for the leaders to re-assert control. The plan doesn't go very well. They reach out again to Equestria and Celestia decides to hold a 'Crystal Fair' as a way to re-awaken their civic pride so they won't need a spell to maintain order any longer. She delegates preparations to Twilight Sparkle and Co, giving Twilight a book on the History of the Crystal Kingdom. This is where the song begins.

Twilight was not prepared: I'm drawing a blank on this. My closest speculation is that it has something to do with deeper relationships than friendship.
