Fillydelphia Gallery go live!

Postby Mayday » Sun Jul 31, 2011 12:16 pm

As pointed out from this story, we now have a full feature gallery!

If you have any question, feel free to ask on this thread.

Here is a Gallery feature list

To upload stuff:

Once you are logged in, click on your icon on top left of the site to go to your Userpage.
You can create a gallery if you don't have one, by going to your Setting page. It is also accessable on top left.

To browse:

Just go here to start browsing
The Gallery drop down menu have a lot other way for you to browes, by Artist, by Tag, by Writing, by Drawing, by Latest... etc etc.

Basic guideline: Keep it non-explicited! When in doubt, mark it Questionable! Off topic stuff are fine long as you keep most of your stuff Pony!

Yaaay! The Gallery is such an awesome feature! Though now the site is going to get even busier! I'm sure this will bring in even more ponies!

Question- is the whole site eventually going to switch to the Gallery's layout?

It took a bit to figure out the gallery lay-out but in the end, I like it. It looks much smoother than the current layout.

But hey, I'm glad we've got a gallery now. I've already uploaded a few things.

Please let me know if you have any difficulties or have ideas for how the gallery system can be made easier or more functional. If you find yourself wondering if something is possible, ask; It may already exist somewhere or be possible to enhance.

Like I said, it was an adjustment to figure out the new layout but it didn't take long. It's pretty intuitive for the most part but here's just a couple quick things:

Graphically it's a little empty, especially at the top. Some more color variety or graphics would help liven it up.

The other thing was that in the Gallery tab, it took me a while to find out I could click on New Folder, New Item and Edit because the links show up as black so I thought they weren't functional.

Other than that, the layout is outstanding and the drop-down menus get you everywhere you want to go without being a big space-hog. I'd like to see the rest of the site go this direction!

Two things-
It'd be nice if there was a way to 'like' a picture or rate it without having to favorite it or comment on it, and another thing, would it be possible to have a user/member list that isn't tied in to one's submissions? I'd like to just browse profiles from time to time.

That is kinda intentional, the whole background can be customized. See mine for example. More empty spot gives artist / user more room to play with how their gallery look like.

Okay. Not really sure what to do to fix that beside add underline, but that is pretty ugly. Maybe add an icon perhaps.

Are you from facebook?

Our member list kinda does. It have a link to their gallery too. But I might add a link directly go to it too if needed. Not entirely sure how useful that could be since majority of the people won't have activity.

'But I don't want to go among mad people,' Alice remarked.
'Oh, you can't help that,' said the Cat: 'we're all mad here.'

Don't rightly know. Long as the tag is there I imagine it would be alright. Pony_Creator is the tag.
