Your Pony's Music Collection

Let's say Equestria has iPods... what would our ponies put on them? Orion, for example, would have the entire Beatles catalogue, (and selected solo albums), the vast majority of Duran Duran's catalogue, and and some U2. He would also have Simon and Garfunkel.

Hehe, Sandy would have a lot of the artists that she chooses to use in her musical numbers:

Fiona Apple
Kate Nash
Frank Turner
Ida Maria
Lilly Allen
Rilo Kiley
and Imogen Heap

Craig would totally be a pony for:
The Dropkick Murphys
Flogging Molly
The Pogues
and The Young Dubliners.

As for Double Scoop... I dunno. I imagine she'd be the kind of mare that likes oldies- and I mean OLD Oldies:

The Anderson Sisters
Louis Armstrong
Paul Whiteman
and, of coarse, some good ol' Frank Sinatra

Kari would have a bit of everything, but the majority would be songs with a story in them, or songs from musicals. She'd probably have the entirety of the 'Wicked' musical songs.

Whiteeyes - Children's songs. And other bouncy happy music.

Gloria - Imperial March, and other commanding ballads. For easy listening she'd also have When Your Evil, Money is Such a Beautiful Word, and Smooth Criminal.

Lucky Jinx - Sadly her ipod's keep exploding due to lightening strikes.

Harmony's built in i-pod contains samples from all genres so it can compare them. It's not sure what it likes yet.

Chell's iPod has a lot of different things... Pink Floyd--both pre- and post-Waters, Roger Waters' solo stuff, Kansas, Styx, Rush, Avenged Sevenfold, Dar Williams, Christine Lavin, The Moody Blues, a LOT of various symphonic artists--both classical and contemporary, some Eminem, Green Day (their older stuff, mostly), Offspring, Depeche Mode, Sinatra, Clapton, Satriani, Eric Johnson, Soft Cell, Deep Purple, possibly even a few songs by Britney Spears, Hilary Duff, and Avril Lavigne... You get the idea. She loves her music.

She and I share a common belief that pretty much every artist out there has done at least one song I'll like and one song I won't.

Octavia - Claims to listen to everything, and she may very well have[i] everything, but she really only listens to classical, avant-garde. and ambient. She is inclined to talk about music (in a negative way) she has never listened to before. Susumu Yokota, Hildur Guonadottir, Current 93, Atanas Vulchev, Xerophonics, and other obscure things.

Gilda - All kinds of metal, hard rock, and punk. Nothing from before 20 years ago. The Lord Weird Slough Feg, Serpent Throne, Black horse, Astroqueen, The Sword, Slayer, and the like.

Lyra - Folk, twee, and ska. Aquabats, Jellyfish, Hey Ocean!, Tom Waits, Vivien Richman, Tegan & Sara, Joanna Newsom, Among the Oak & Ash, etc.

Surprise - See Pinkie Pie. Also loves K-Pop.

Skyblaze would probably light light-hearted bubblegum pop stuff. Fun, easy to dance to, nothing particularly deep or heavy.

Thistledown, of course, would like classic Scottish folk tunes and ballads. No particular bands, really, just Scots-Celtic-flavored music that reminds her of her homeland.

Stuff like this:

'But I don't want to go among mad people,' Alice remarked.
'Oh, you can't help that,' said the Cat: 'we're all mad here.'
