"Kelpy is correct, as the legends say nothing about sparkling, Edward Coltdon, or weredogs."

"Professor, can you please tell us the origins of the vampony myth? I haven't gotten around to reading that yet!" Kelpy asks eagerly.

[Diamond Charm]

Silver rolled her eyes, "Yeah, if you like DOG breath. Mr. Orion, I think it's unfair that you think that just because something is new it's not good. Like, how can you NOT like Team Coltdon!? What's not to like about romanticizing the monsters of yesteryear?" ((Yeeeah, I'm not a fan, either. Thought it was an amazing direction to take Silver Spoon, though.))

[LennonFan]

Orion sighs. "Silver, see me after class, please. Now then, the vampony myth began as a method of some cultures to explain what happens to the body after a pony passes away."

[Diamond Charm]

"WHAT!" Silver protested, "You, like, can't do that just because I disagree with you!" She sidles back in her seat and mumbles angrily, "S'not fair..."

[LennonFan]

"I can. You are confusing pop culture for true mythology. If you are to succeed in this course, then you must let go of your preconceived notions."

Silver raised a hoof. "But can't today's pop culture become the mythology of the future?" she asked hesitantly.

[Whiteeyes]

"Also, according to the book, a myth is defined as 'a story that reflects the cultural values and understandings of the time' and 'has a religious basis of belief'. Last I checked, vampony's aren't exactly taught in churches, so that would make them a *looks in book* folk belief or legend, which is similar to myth but lacks the religious basis. Also, wouldn't the weredogs technically be a use of *looks in book* Monster Theory except that the other is used to represent social minorities and the intolerance shoved upon them, rather than the traditional use of the other as a target to be feared?" Diamond Tiara chimed in. "Also, 'all tellings of a myth are equally valid',so that means that the Twilight version is, scientifically speaking and according to the material you gave us, just as valid as any older version."

OK sure she sounded like a huge nerd for this, but she liked the class; plus nopony puts down the greatest book series EVER while she's around. She'll even go full on nerd to defend it.

((College Myth course. And yes we had this discussion. Scientifically speaking, Godzilla and Twilight are as valid as the Enuma Elish and the Bible. I am dead serious.))

Orion is stunned. "That's... That's astounding, Miss Charm. You're absolutely right, I should have realized." He looks to Silver Spoon. "I was wrong. I apologize."

[Diamond Charm]

Silver Spoon humphs and crosses her forelegs. She opens an eye curiously and asks, "So... I'm not staying after class for saying you were wrong?"

[Prickly Pear]

"I wanna learn about it all!" Kelpy chirped in eagerly.

[Sleepy Mix]

Kelly stared at Diamond. She totally did not expect her to say such a thing. [Maybe I should reconsider my oppinion on her.] She stared at Diamond for awhile before turning back to Orion.

[LennonFan]

"Indeed, Silver. You're free." To Kelpy he said, "All in good time, my dear. Just be patient."

[D-Rave]

Rave cannot believe anypony actually likes that sort of rubbish.
"Sparkling? Edward Coltdon? Weredogs? Don't make me laugh...." He rolls his eyes.

[Diamond Charm]

Silver Spoon flopped against her desk dramatically, "Oh, Mr. Orion, he's making fun of Mythology, which is, like, your favorite thing, right?! My, I wonder why he makes no effort to spare his teacher's feelings!"

[LennonFan]

"Now now Rave, let us not be so judgemental, hmm? Do not make my mistakes!"

[D-Rave]

"I just find it weird why fillies like that kind of junk. Sure its based of real life mythology but still..." He shakes his head again and shrugs.
"I just don't see what all the fuss is about..."

[That stuff sucks....]



Turbo has no comment on this because he's never paid much notice . So he's just listening...

Silver Spoon stuck her tongue out at Rave, "We'll see what's JUNK when this stuff starts happening," She shook her head and leaned over to whisper to Diamond Tiara, "Can you believe the NERVE of some ponies?"

[D-Rave]

Rave rolled his eyes at Silver Spoon but looked back at the board anyway.

"It may be mythology but I think they really over shoot it." He chuckled.

Turbo was looking to the window wondering if the pink blur would appear again.

[Whiteeyes]

"I know. The Mare in the Moon turned out to be real, so who's to say that our stuff isn't real as well?" Diamond Tiara quipped back, maybe a bit louder than intended because of her passion for the material.

[LennonFan]

"You raise a valid point, Diamond Tiara."

[Kiba]

Chitter trots into the room, Kiba sitting on his back like always. "This is Orion's Mythology class, right...? I'm sorry I'm late!"

[LennonFan]

Orion raises a hoof. "You've come to the right room! Please take an empty desk."
