Not entirely true!

Say, if they are born on the same year, but Pinkie's birthday is on April 29th, while fluttershy is on April 25th. Fluttershy would only be 1 year older then Pinkie during those four days between April 25th and April 29th! Pinkie would be the same age as Fluttershy! now!

Now, for this to be -always- true... there is really only one possbility.. Fluttershy and Pinkie share the same Birthday!

Or to have Fluttershy be almost always a year older than Pinkie, have her birthday be even earlier. Let's say she was born April 15th 984, if Pinkie was born May 3rd 985 Fluttershy would have been 1 and Pinkie 0. So for a few days Fluttershy's age would be two higher than Pinkie, but for the most part would be only one over.
